DYE FACTORY

Located within a former factory in London, this apartment is part of a contemporary residential development that preserves the building's industrial character. Original steel columns, generous ceiling heights and expansive factory windows define the architecture, filling the interiors with shifting natural light and framing views across the city. Rather than concealing these elements, the design celebrates them, allowing the building's history to remain visible throughout the home.

Against this robust architectural backdrop, colour became the project's defining gesture. Deep, earthy tones and warm mineral shades were introduced to soften the industrial shell, bringing richness and intimacy to the open-plan spaces. The palette enhances the changing quality of light throughout the day, creating rooms that feel calm in the morning and atmospheric by evening.

The furniture was conceived as a carefully assembled collection rather than a complete suite. Vintage pieces, chosen for their patina and sculptural presence, sit comfortably alongside contemporary upholstery and bespoke designs. At the centre of the dining area, a custom-made table crafted from Italian travertine marble anchors the space, its softly textured surface echoing the raw honesty of the original structure while introducing a sense of permanence and craftsmanship.

Every material was selected for the way it would age and interact with the architecture—from natural stone and timber to richly textured fabrics and metal finishes. The result is a London interior that feels considered and deeply personal, where industrial heritage meets contemporary interior design through colour, craftsmanship and carefully curated furniture, creating a home with a distinctive identity that will continue to evolve over time.
